Nothing beats a road trip with your wife

Leadership and what to do with it

I listened to part of President Obama's commencement address at ASU(Arizona State University) last night and I was completely inspired once again. I heard some one say today that he is a moralist motivator and that he using the platform of the presidency to convey his belief and message of social change and renewal. What more could you ask of our most prominent leader than to have them speak encouragement with conviction about serving causes greater than yourself. I hope and pray that this catches on. Its not a new message by any means. Its a message that has been taught for hundreds and thousands of years by our greatest leaders starting with the prophets of the Hebrew Bible and on to our God in Jesus and continued through many amazing and selfless people since. Its not because of President Obama that I want to now do this. I have been challenged for years by God and now I am encouraged and empowered by a facilitator of this call who just happens to be our President. We are fortunate to have a president who knows this call throughout history, and knows that its not his call but the call of humanity and creation.

A life practice that I am trying to live out is the belief that Mind, Body and Soul are all connected. All need to be worked out and given attention daily. A book that Rachel has already read and that I am now reading is The Makers Diet by Jordan Rubin. I highly recommend it, atleast pick it up at a book store and read the first chapter. ( It isn't a lose weight diet, its a life style diet)
